MB 5332 Des Moines Area Community College Resistance to Change Discussion
One of the most critical factors for project success is to be able to identify and manage resistance to change. Project managers can classify resistance as “professional resistance” or “personal resistance.” “Professional resistance occurs when each functional unit, as a whole, feels threatened by project management” (Kerzner, 2017, p. 71).
Review Tables 2.9–2.12 (pp. 73–74) of the Kerzner text (linked in Resources). Select one of the tables (type of Resistance) and provide your own experiences:
- Identify the type of resistance you selected.
- Describe your own causes of resistance.
- Describe the mitigation strategies you employed to overcome resistance.
- Identify what, if anything, you would have done differently, based on your readings.
