b) Locate an authority to help you analyze this problem and download a copy (if you are doing this part in class, only one member of your group should do this):

1. Go to the UCF Libraries homepage (https://library.ucf.edu/) and click on the “databases” button in the search window. Search for “tax” and click on the first link (it should be for the RIA OnPoint Tax Library). You may need to sign in with your NID and password.

2. Use the keyword search box to search for related sections of the Internal Revenue Code (HINT – use the “sources” button under the search box to unselect all sources other than the internal revenue code.) c) Analyze the relevant code section and use the information to compute net sales and fill in the workpaper (don’t forget to signoff when you are done with a workpaper). You can compute net sales in a few different ways. However, you are not allowed to complete the task manually (i.e., you cannot sort and delete unneeded data to arrive at the solution). Be sure to tie your references so future reviewers can follow where your numbers came from (i.e., when preparing your workpaper, indicate the worksheet from which you are transferring information).

After you finalize your analysis of the issue and come to a conclusion about net sales, communicate your findings through two documents:

1) a tax research memorandum for the file

and 2) a professional letter to be forwarded to the client.
