Business Plans Question
Create a chart based on the files that I will provide for you.
Q: So when is a project not a project? A: Before it has been officially authorized via a project charter. A project charter is a very important document as it officially authorizes a “proposed” project as an official project and commits resources to it – – including designating a project manager. A charter can take many forms from a contract to a cooperative agreement to a memorandum of understanding (MOU). Generally, an organization has its own protocol for authorizing a project, but the important idea is to authorize and document the decision to move forward with a project AND to capture many of the important pieces of information that help to define this newly-authorized project. For many project managers, they did not have much involvement, if any, in this process. There certainly is an advantage to have someone involved early who might be designated the project manager. In this case, your will develop the information with the help of your partner.
In this week’s assignment, you will prepare a Project Charter. Using the previous week’s resources and information gathered in the Project Framework sheet prepare the charter.
Assume that your company has been awarded the work and that the proposal submitted was accepted.
Be sure to document any assumptions you’re making.
