Read Clooney’s “Yoga and Lent I” (p. 25) to “Yoga and Lent VIII: The Samadhi of Jesus” (p. 55), which is attached below as a PDF.

Précis papers on readings and films are required on every class meeting. And, always more than one! The Precís Papers require three parts:

(1) a Summary aspect where students quote material and cite page numbers in parenthetical citation (Hanh, 42) in order to hold them accountable to engaging the text/video and to show that they’ve gained insight somehow.

(2) a relational or reflective aspect where the student relates the content they learned to your own personal experience – religious, cultural, or anything as long as it is experiential from their unique context.

(3) Write a question about the reading – a word you didn’t know, an idea that challenged you, something you wanted to know more about.
