Rutgers University Suicide Prevention Discussion

I’m working on a health & medical question and need guidance to help me understand better.

For your discussion this week, please read “Suicide Prevention”https://www.helpguide.org/articles/suicide-prevention/suicide-prevention.htm and watch “Suicide attempt survivors offer insight and advice” Suicide attempt survivors offer insight and advice. In the reading “Suicide Prevention” it states “Suicide prevention tip 1: Speak up if you’re worried”. In the video as people talked they mentioned that people should speak up and check on someone if they feel that person is at risk of attempting suicide or having suicidal thoughts. Many people find it difficult to bring up the subject of suicide, even if they have a concern. Many also have difficulty in engaging in helpful conversation with a person who has stated they are feeling like ending their life.

For discussion this week, talk about your thoughts on how you feel about talking to someone at risk of suicide? If you feel this would not be difficult for you, why do you feel that way? OR If you feel it would be difficult for you, why do you feel that way? OR Are their some things you may find more difficult and some things you find easier to discuss in regards to suicide?
