Grand Canyon University Advanced Practice Registered Nurses Priorities Discussion

***Comment this ***
Today’s Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) have three key priorities in advocating for equitable population health services and policies. The first aim is to provide better care to the population/community, which leads to the second goal of improved patient, population, and community health. (Poghosyan et al., 2017) Thirdly, lower healthcare costs such that all patient groups have equal access to treatment in order to reduce health disparities. According to the Institute of Medicine (IOM), APRNs should be advocates by caring for communities within diverse healthcare environments and be able to practice to the full extent of their education and training, but we all know that there are limitations that APRNs are currently working to change for that reason alone.
