Per the module introduction please consider question D5.2 from page 107 of our workbook:

Consider the “taken for granted” idea of language and speech are equivalent.  Discuss this idea.  Do you share this idea?  If not, why not? Did Polich’s article succeed in making you question the language ideology of orality?

After reading both Ahearn and Polich (workbook chapter), consider question D5.2 from page 107 of our workbook. This is going to be a pretty free flowing discussion as I do have not set “you must do” directions.  You will want to give your opinion, supporting your position.
