In class, we covered the concepts of Intersectionality and Positionality. As we tackle contested social issues, it is important for all of us to understand the ways in which aspects of people’s identities intersect to produce complex patterns of privilege/discrimination and that these patterns may vary from place to place and over time. To begin our inquiry into personal and social identities and how those may result in privilege/discrimination, I encourage you to fill out the attached diagrams. I appreciate that you may not feel comfortable sharing some of this information, so please submit those aspects that you do feel comfortable sharing.

NOTE: You may print out the diagrams and fill them in by hand, photograph them and upload them to HuskCT. If you do not have a printer, feel free to draw them by hand, take a photo and submit that.
