Even when we aren’t looking for information, we are inundated with it via social media. The challenge now isn’t finding information, but rather sifting through it and determining meaning. What information is worth our attention? How can we know what to believe? These questions are particularly important when it comes to issues that affect our health and well being. In this unit, we will discuss some answers to these questions, but we must also ask, are there fundamental factors that make us receptive to ideas or immediately reject them in the first place?
