Introduce yourself to your master teacher. Ask her where she would like you to do your observing. Record the daily schedule. Record your first impressions of the children, classroom and staff. Complete a 30 minute observation of a child at play. Write exactly what you see and what you hear. Do not make interpretations or assumptions about the motives. Just record the behaviors you observe and language you hear. Spell children’s language phonetically, but capture as much detail as possible. Please refer to page 19-20 of PreK Guidelines (in Canvas).
