Classical Conditioning Had a Significance Impact on Behaviorism Presentation

POWERPOINT WITH SPEAKER NOTES PLEASE:

Classical conditioning happens more often than we may think because of implicit learning. Think about a reaction that you have when your phone beeps after you receive a message. Do you feel an urge to check your phone? This is classical conditioning. The beep of the phone alone does not naturally produce the behavior of checking your phone, but because you have learned to associate that beep with an incoming message, you know that you should check your phone.

Imagine that your team has been asked to present to a group of high school students on how technology can affect behavior through classical conditioning in different aspects of life.

Create a 10- to 12-slide Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation that illustrates the process of classical conditioning. Ensure you:

  • 1-Briefly explain the process of classical conditioning,
  • 2-Create a situational example that illustrates how technology can affect behavior through classical conditioning.
  • 3-Identify the US, UR, CS, and CR in the example.
  • 4-Include higher-order conditioning, sensory preconditioning, and US revaluation, as well as explanations of each to your examples
  • 5-Conclusion

This is my situational example that I will use in my slides:

Smartphones and Unknown Numbers

{using Sarah as an example}

Sarah has been receiving calls from an unknown number on her smartphone. Each time Sarah answered the call it happened to be a telemarketer trying to sell something Sarah did not want. Because of this, now every time Sarah receives unknown numbers calling her on her smartphone she doesn’t answer because she’s conditioned it will be a telemarketer based on her experience.
