Writing Homework Help
University of California Berkeley Protect Truth in The Age of Misinformation Paper
I choose option as my project topic and 10 ppts and two pages for mini paper
OPTIONS
-
“Explainer” media — could be an original video, song/rap, poster, graphic,
slideshow, or webpage that explains any of the topics or concepts from
class. Can be serious, funny, or satire. (ie: you could write and record a
rap about the “War of the Worlds” radio broadcast. It needs to
teach/explain the broadcast.) Basically, you’ll take a topic or concept from
class and create a piece of media to explain it further. (you cannot write a
script for this assignment; it must be a produced piece of media) Note: A
slide presentation (PowerPoint) can work well for an explainer – like slides
to go with a lecture.
-
An Advertisement: produce an advertisement for a real or imagined
product or service. Apply persuasive appeals for your target audience.
(you cannot write a script or make a storyboard for this assignment; it must
be a produced piece of media)
MINI PAPER
In addition to your media project, you will also turn in a short paper that describes the
project:
Everyone turns this is. EACH member of the group turn in a paper. It’s okay if
some of it is the same.
- What topic or project did you choose and why?
- What was the goal of your project? (for ads: describe target audience)
- How did you achieve that goal? (for ads: what appeals are being applied?)
-
Why did you choose the methods (for ads: appeals) you used? (ie: a rap
song to teach cultivation) - What did you learn while doing this project?
-
List the resources that you used (info sources, books, other) in APA style
citations (can also be a part of the media project, such as the last slide on
a slide show)
