Analyze how the nurse-to-patient ratio is affected by the payment approach selected and how these impact quality of service.

Post an example that illustrates the difference between a fee-for-service payment and a case-based service payment. Explain the benefits and limitations of each approach. Assess the viability of utilizing, within your own organization (or one with which you are familiar), the two alternative reimbursement strategies described in “Which Health care Payment System is Best?” Analyze how the nurse-to-patient ratio is affected by the payment approach selected and how these impact quality of service.

What would be the three most important points to include in a public nutrition program?

Traditionally, nutrition programs were targeted to the indigent and poor populations in developing countries. Many of today’s Americans are malnourished also, but they are inundated with unhealthy foods and require a multidisciplinary approach to nutrition education.

Analysis of the article as it relates to risk management in health care organizations.

1) Financing risk often must be addressed when an organization is least equipped to deal with it and limited in its options. The interrelationship of asset-side and liability-side risks is a critical issue for hospital leadership. Give an example of how you would use a best practice approach to balance sheet management, giving careful consideration to management of asset/liability risks and returns in concert with one another.

2) You are required to critique a scholarly journal article on risk management. Your critique must include the following:

1) A summary of the article’s main points in a clear and concise manner.

2) Analysis of the article as it relates to risk management in health care organizations.

3) An evaluation or critique of the article: Did you agree or disagree with the merits of the article and why

Discuss contributing factors and signs and symptoms that may be observed or assessed in adolescent with depression.

As adolescents separate from their parents and gain a sense of control, sometimes they are unable to balance stresses. As a result, depression may occur, and, at times, suicide may be the outcome. Discuss adolescent depression.

Discuss contributing factors and signs and symptoms that may be observed or assessed in adolescent with depression.

Describe primary, secondary, and tertiary methods of health prevention for adolescent depression.

Research community and state resources available for adolescent with depression. ( at least 2 resources).

What nursing interventions could you use to assist an adolescent you suspect is depressed beyond referring the adolescent to a state or community resource?

  • Identify an environmental or occupational exposure to a chemical or group of chemicals in which you are interested—the topic for your final project. For ideas about topics, you can consult the following sources:
  • Determine how your chosen exposure affects human populations, i.e., the health problems or disease caused by this chemical or group of chemicals.
  • Choose a topic that is not overly broad. For example:
    • Choose one chemical: Lead exposure will make a better topic than exposure to toxic heavy metals, which include lead, mercury, chromium, cadmium, etc. (described in the textbook).
    • Choose a specific population at risk: This population is exposed either to one chemical or to a closely related group of chemicals, such as pesticide exposure to children in agricultural families or occupational exposure to organic solvents among pregnant women.
  • Write a 3 to 5-page paper in a Microsoft Word document addressing the following:
    • Describe the chosen environmental or occupational exposure.
    • Explain the importance of this exposure problem to human health in terms of both of the following issues:
      • The extent of exposure, e.g., the estimated number of people exposed
      • The seriousness of disease or diseases associated with the exposure to the substance or group of substances
    • Describe the population you will study (e.g., the whole population, individuals living in poverty, children, pregnant women, workers in specific occupations, etc.)
    • Explain why you are interested in the environmental or occupational public health problem you selected and the population you selected.

Explore      the key indicators involved with scorecards and dashboards as well as the      external quality standards to which they are compared.

The process of constructing a balanced scorecard for either financial goal setting or tracking of patient and employee satisfaction can be controversial. For example, a hospital’s financial scorecard provides a snapshot of gathered data for the hospital, but the data may be out of context, which makes it difficult to identify specific problems. It is evident that both scorecards and dashboards have a place in the health care setting; however, will all organizations and accrediting bodies agree on the aspects of implementation, data analysis, and levels of effectiveness?
To prepare:

  • Consider      the various uses of scorecards and dashboards presented in this week’s      Learning Resources and media presentation.
  • Reflect      on how these measurement systems and measurement methods impact      organizational goal setting in the areas of overall performance and      financial stability.
  • Explore      the key indicators involved with scorecards and dashboards as well as the      external quality standards to which they are compared.
  • Ask      yourself: What do the metrics used in the balanced scorecard and dashboard      mean to my organization and nursing practice? Has my organization      established goals for these metrics and are they currently being met?

By tomorrow Tuesday 12/19/17 12 pm, write a minimum of 550 words essay in APA format with 2 references from the list of required readings below. Include the level one as numbered below:

post a cohesive scholarly response that addresses the following:

1) Select any setting (Hospital) and describe the extent to which the patient’s experience of care is measured, tracked, and set for improvement goals.

2) Evaluate whether goals at your organization are established for these metrics and whether or not they are currently being met.

3) Describe some of the provocative issues that have or will emerge. For example, what has been the impact of CAHPS or HCAHPS in the setting described (if applicable).

In this program, Barbara Epke and Carrie Brady discuss methods that health care organizations use to gather data for measuring outcomes, and explain how data are used to measure key indicators of quality and safety.

Discuss at least one proposed solution for each barrier. Your solution for the micro barrier must include an analysis of various potential funding options (both independent and integrated). Your solution for the macro barrier must include an analysis of financing resources for health care.

For the second written assignment of the course, you will continue in the design of your proposed model program by demonstrating your understanding of your selected population’s challenges, which negatively impact this group’s health and well-being. Based on this week’s research, conduct an assessment of the barriers, limitations, and other distinguishing features, as they exist within your community.

  • Prepare a recap of the model program for your community that you originally shared in the week 2 written assignment. As stated in the Week Two directions, changes to the potential program can be made as you research and develop the focus of the program.
  • Analyze and discuss at least three critical barriers that impact the health and well-being of your chosen group; one must be a micro-level (individual) barrier that is financial, one must be a macro-level (community/state) barrier that relates to access and funding for care, and the third barrier may be one of your choosing.
  • Discuss at least one proposed solution for each barrier. Your solution for the micro barrier must include an analysis of various potential funding options (both independent and integrated). Your solution for the macro barrier must include an analysis of financing resources for health care.
  • Research and analyze the regulatory, legal, ethical, and accreditation requirements and issues for the service(s) offered in your proposed program. Discuss how each will impact the management of the program.
Your assignment should be a minimum of three pages in length (excluding title and reference pages) and should include a minimum of three scholarly sources cited according to APA guidelines as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center. Please note: All assignments in this course are progressive; therefore you should use the same population selected in your Week Two assignment. The Week Two assignment’s contents do not need to be re- submitted with this assignment.

How have you evolved as a nurse throughout the course of your studies?  Were there any unexpected gains?  Did you achieve all that you hoped you would when you began the program?

This week, reflect on all that you have accomplished in this course and throughout your program.  Consider the following items for this week’s discussion, and discuss a minimum of two.  You are welcome, and encouraged, to discuss as many as you like.

  • Do you think you will use the ePortfolio you created as a career tool or for other purposes? How can the ePortfolio support the professional goals you set?
  • How have you evolved as a nurse throughout the course of your studies?  Were there any unexpected gains?  Did you achieve all that you hoped you would when you began the program?
  • What challenges did you overcome during your studies? How did you rise above them?
  • Will your professional role with your colleagues, formal or informal, change now that you have furthered your education and gained new insights into the profession? Explain.
  • Recall one of your most memorable and/or most challenging courses or assignments or academic experiences. Describe how this experience impacted you professionally and/or personally.
  • What recommendations would you have for other RNs coming into the program? What tips or words of advice would you offer?
