End of Life Reflection Scenario.
End of life scenario about a dying patient that has a daughter. Her daughter was with her in the hospital before she gave up in the spirit. The nurse was always in the room delivering good care to the dying patient, at the same time cheering the patient’s daughter up with a therapeutic communication. The nurse was always informing the hospice patient whatever care she was going to administer even though that the patient was in coma.
The nurse assessed the patient and reported the assessment to the provider. The heart rate was high, so the nurse hard a second thought not to deliver the morphine ordered by the provider. The nurse discussed it with her supervisor before administering the medication to the patient.
A clergy visited the patient and daughter and he was in the patient’s room before the patient died. The patient finally died after the nurse had given her care and throat suctioning. The provider came in to confirm the hospice patient’s death. Finally, the nurse was emotional and held the patient’s daughter.
