Architecture and Design homework help

Q1: Please answer in 300-500 words. Grammar counts in scoring. Vanderbilt is going to build a new dormitory and dining hall. The building will be a LEED Certified and high performing building, and the goals are both LEED Gold and Energy Star certifications. The campus architect has asked you to recommend a delivery method for this project. Which project delivery method would you recommend? Why?

Answer:
I would personally recommend the IPD method (The Integrated Project Delivery) For the LEED certification to reach its absolute in both LEED Gold and Energy Star Certification for Vanderbilt University build. The reason for me choosing this (IPD) method is because of the following reasons:
– Certification by (Energy Star). This method will show the amount of energy consumed and it will provide the building to be more a green building to the campus, with less energy consumption and less money spent in the future.
– All the participant parties are involved from the starting point.
– The rework of the project is almost none.
– The risk-reward portion is usually divided between the participated parties, for that, all of the participants tend to do and make more effort toward the project which will eventually provide a better design.
– Working within (IPD) would design a project that achieves the points of 60+ points. As a result, this will make achieving the LEED Gold certification easier.
In conclusion, the amount of the point that will be generated from all these reasons, coming from the IPD method, will provide sustainable design and more solid results that will get the project to succeed, even in the coming years.

Q2: Please answer in 300-500 words. Grammar counts in scoring. Now that you have selected the project delivery method, please explain some of the first steps that your team will take in creating this high performance building. Please discuss processes, tools, meetings (and any other relevant items) related to the high performance design process. How will the initial goals be verified once the facility is occupied?

Answer:

First thing is brainstorming. Gathering all the information needed and figuring out what the issues are and trying to come up with solutions that will be suitable for all the participated parties. Presentations will occur during our regular meeting to enclose the project’s gabs and listing to suggestions from each other. We will eventually decide to choose the best ideas based on clarity, suitability, and efficiency, and we will stick with the decisions that take. The work will be assigned to the or divided, if needed, to the participated parties to achieve the LEED Certification. We will make sure that would not be any issues by adjusting the timeline of the work. Gaining the LEED Certification requires, so much attention to the details and schedules because the wasted time will be a waste in money. There will be scheduled physical meetings to review the work progress to assure that there are no delays in work. With that, the project will succeed and LEED Certification will be achieved.
