First find an epidemiological “outbreak” to use as a contextual background for this project. Using that context, create your infographic using the components below as a framework.

This project has two components and should be addressed to an audience of non-technically-savvy people:

  • Using a blend of best practices in academic posters, infographics, and health literacy, make an infographic explaining the relationship between data, information, and knowledge. This infographic should be 1 page.
    • How can data be converted into information then into knowledge?
    • What about extracting knowledge from information?
      • Be sure to properly incorporate the terms “meaning” and “justified truth” into your explanation and show examples to support your explanation.
      • Make sure to use “best practices” as outlined in learning activities this week, including consideration of any/all copyrighted material incorporated.
    • Compose, in a second document, how you would explain your infographic to an audience of non- technically-savvy people. This should be 2 pages.
      • Describe the information in the overall infographic in “plain language”
      • What techniques should be used to make technical literature readable by the general population?
