EDU 8260 AU Integration of Technology into Teaching and Learning Discussion Paper
In this discussion you’ll continue to examine the integration of technology into teaching and learning. Prior to completing this discussion read Pellegrino & Quellmalz (2010) and Rohr, Costello, & Hawkins (2015).
Initial Post: Create an initial response that addresses the following:
- Locate two research articles that evaluate best practices in technology integration and assessment.
- If needed, consult Scholarly, Peer Reviewed, and Other Credible Sources (Links to an external site.). This table offers additional guidance on appropriate source types. If you have questions about whether a specific source is appropriate for this assignment, please contact your instructor.
- Be sure to provide the full APA citation.
- Read and evaluate each article. For guidance on reading scholarly articles, check out the How To Read a Scholarly Article (Links to an external site.) tutorial.
- For each article present the following:
- The purpose of the research study
- The research methods used within the study
- The best practices the research highlights
- The results of the study
- Whether or not you feel the results of the study are valid and/or reliable.
- Whether or not your feel the research contributes to a better understanding and/or use of technology in teaching and learning.
- Be sure to support your evaluation of the articles.
Guided Response: Post responses to at least two classmates. Questions you might consider in your response include:
- What are your thoughts on the study’s validity and/or reliability?
- Could the results of the study be generalized to individuals outside of the study?
- Are the assessment methods and objectives in the research articles selected aligned well to the technology integration being assessed?
Though the expectation is two responses for this discussion, for deeper engagement and learning, you are encouraged to provide responses to any comments or questions to you to further the conversation while giving you opportunities to develop a sense of community with class peers and the instructor.
