Recent incidents, at Riverville Medical Center (RMC), have led the organization’s leadership to design multiple strategies for dealing with the conflict that occurred as a result of such technologies between team members, when they originate from the use of information and communication technologies. RMC’s leadership has approved an “Employee Personal Mobile Phone Use Policy” and an “Employee Social Media Site Policy.” The leadership has also provided online training for employees on professional use of social media. Finally, RMC’s leadership has held several meetings to discuss the personal phone use at the worksite and the use of social media sites as related to work.
