Digitial evidence is defined as any data stored or transmitted using a computer that support or refute a theory of how an offense occured or that address critical elements of the offense such as intent or alibi (adapted from Chisum, 1999). Consider the types of digital data that exist and how they might be useful in an investigation. Identify and define the three (3) types of digital data. Provide examples of each and explain how they can be used as a source of digital evidence.
