This person knows of at least one applicant that was not approved because of what was on social media. Considering that many people are living their lives on social media, who wouldn’t look to see what a person had on their social media sites. The organization does not have any written policy dealing with this but you worry it may break federal discrimination laws or worse create a negative image if this got out. Using three ethical principles as well as legal rules and regulations for hiring, discuss the implications of these supervisors’ actions. Can they do this? Why wouldn’t it be a good practice to do?
