Option Two, Fiction: The “spark” for a story or even the basis for almost an entire story can come from an interesting real-life event/situation.
Take an interesting real-life incident or person and use it either to begin or end a short story or create a short story that weaves in elements of the incident throughout. There are many websites out there to a site with dozens of interesting real-life incidents; see if one of them gives you an idea! If not, simply look up sites that offer more reports. Once finished, I expect the usual paragraph or so on your experience writing it.
