The goal of this assignment is to produce a mock academic paper conforming to Turabian formatting requirements. This begins with a formal title page, extends through the body of your paper, and concludes with any back matter such as appendices and most certainly your bibliography. Thus it will be three (maybe four) pages. I realize the extent of this paper is technically more than one page delineated in the syllabus. Given all the space on both first and last pages, however, plus the fact that you are not obligated to do any fresh writing, please go ahead and carry out the assignment as prescribed.

• Feel free to use an excerpt of a paper for another course on which you are currently working. At this point, you are little more than half-way through the first semester of your Grace career, so you may not have much to draw from. In that case, let me encourage you to look to your other courses this semester to a paper that is required of you. Use an excerpt of that paper for this assignment. If for some reason you are still without a candidate paper, look ahead to next semester and any papers you will be writing in those courses. This will require a bit of “forecasting” on your part, or else communication with your prof to obtain a preview of the rubric for said paper. Failing all these, please write an original piece that conforms to the rubric above.
