What did your analyses tell you about the causes you investigated?

The outcome of the survey was very insightful, the customers shop frequently at [ORGANIZATION] and their experience ranges from good to great. When we first started this assignment, we thought that a lot of the customers at [ORGANIZATION] were repeat customers which is one of the reasons for low credit card sales. However, of the people surveyed 86.6% of customers had never applied for the One Card Credit Card and 80% of customers did not have the credit card. One thing [TEAM MEMBER] noticed while doing observations was consistency. The cashiers were not consistent with asking if the customers would like to sign up for the credit card. This was proven with question 5 when 46.6% of customers answered no, the cashier did not ask them if they would like to apply for the One Card Credit Card. While this is the largest problem, we felt that when you tell the customers the benefit of having the One Card Credit Card they are more willing to apply. However, only 33.3% of customers were told about the benefits of having this credit card.

Is there anything about the causes of the target problem that is still unknown?

There are still several unknowns regarding the causes of the target problem. For example, it’s still unclear why so many customers are not interested in applying for the credit card, even though a majority of them are repeat-customers and stand to benefit from having it. In addition, it is not known why customers are only told about the credit card about half of the time. It could be that the employees are unaware that they are expected to promote the credit card to customers. It could also be that they are uncomfortable doing so.
