Testing Hypotheses For Associations Between Categorical/Ordinal and Interval/Ratio Variables

Aloha MKT 321 Students:

For your third homework, please analyze the following variables using a c2 test for the categorical/ordinal variable association tests for the interval/ratio variables using the L’Experience Restaurant data set.

1) c2 test of association between very likely patron of L’Experience Restaurant (yes/no) and at least 5 variables of interest. Please explain your findings. Ensure that you include a null and alternative hypothesis, the presence, and what that presence means from a marketing standpoint (i.e. what would we do with this information when developing strategy?)

2) r correlation between preference for all restaurant variables. Pay particular attention to any associations that come up between any variable and ‘probable patron’ and ‘very likely patron’ these are of particular interest. Please explain any statistically significant correlations that are managerially valuable (i.e. remember the ‘magic’ number +/-.7). Ensure that you include a null and alternative hypothesis, the presence, pattern, and strength of the relationship and what these data points mean from a marketing standpoint (i.e. what would we do with this information when developing strategy?)
