The W.K Kellogg foundation actually provided funding to my organization to support a pilot project we were doing before the Coronavirus pandemic. According to the W.K Kellogg foundation, “A logic model is a systematic and visual way to present and share your understanding of the relationships among the resources you have to operate your program, the activities you plan, and the changes or results you hope to achieve.” (W.K. Kellogg Foundation 2004). Based on this definition, it is an organized way to ensure that everything is in order with the program. For example, in order for a organization to operate efficiently, the program needs to have resources, a plan/activity, and the expected/anticipated results.

The logic model can be used by my organization to stay within budgetary resources. The logic model can be used to identify the problem, think through the solution, and then the means of getting to the solution. My organization can identify what our organization’s goal is and then identify what resources are needed to get to the goal. Knowing what resources are needed allows the organization to see whether or not it can be managed within existing resources.

Logic models also are clear and have explicit steps. It’s planned work and intended results. Planned work is comprised of resources/inputs and activities. Intended results outputs, outcomes, and impact. This makes it easier to gain general consensus amongst stakeholders.
