For this assignment, you are asked to select a television or Internet commercial and ‘deconstruct’ it.  Working backwards from the commercial, determine the decisions that had to be made from the first concept through production and airing.  This assignment is designed to encourage an analytical approach toward advertising and to help foster a critical and creative attitude.  Look carefully at the details:  Who are the people in the ad?  What are their ages, genders, social situation, ethnicity?  Look at the external and internal elements:  What kinds of cars do they have, what kinds of houses, furnishings.

Use this information to determine who the advertiser was trying to target.
