I’m working on a business discussion question and need an explanation to help me learn.

Response 1: Coreather

Of all the Biblical Scriptures I read throughout this course, Proverbs 14:15 is most relevant to the research process.  Proverbs 14:15 tells us that “the simple believeth every word; but the prudent man looketh well to his going” and as a Christian researcher, this scripture is about how skepticism is a virtue and taken caution is a sign of nobility.  This scripture can tell us that only the foolish and unwise believe anything they hear, but a wise and successful man will scrutinize things before concluding his decision-making.  He does nothing by chance but will go and explore by research.  This Proverb will give you conviction or the ability to question or criticize new information and take what is going on around you as the truth without evidence.

Skepticism helps researchers to remain objective when performing scientific inquiries, which forces them to examine the information and collect data to be sure that they have the evidence to back up a theory.  A scientific theory draws a conclusion from comprehensive research using various data from observations, case studies, surveys, interviews, testing, and other collection instruments.  Therefore, Proverbs 12:15 is Biblical guidance in exploring research through focuses on establishing probability rather than certainty.  As a researcher, you must examine data with honesty and integrity using an ethical approach consistent with a Christian worldview, a statement quoted in this course.  When we put GOD first ahead of anything we set out to do, we must trust that he will give us the truth and knowledge we are researching.

Response 2: Shala

“And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth” (2 Timothy 2:24-25 English Standard Version). This biblical perspective teaches us that a kind spirit will gain the trust of others to receive the message or teaching of what is being presented to learn. As Christians, we must not be quick to judge and be patient because everyone has a different style of learning and how they accept the message. I must say that I have enjoyed this research class. It has been informative on different resources and how to properly complete a research study using the excel program. The most beneficial component of the module was exploring the excel program. I have used the excel program before but not in the magnitude of creating charts and graphing to displaying the data collected from the research study. I am comfortable using the excel program, and I have been introduced to more ways to generate formulas for the data. I also used Belhaven’s library to obtain my references for the research study. Another beneficial aspect was the feedback, help, and support from my classmates. It was refreshing to know that we were willing to work with one another as a team to help complete assignments.“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing”(1 Thessalonians 5:11-13 English Standard Version).
