City College of San Francisco Business Law Discussion

I’m working on a business law question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.

1. Roger Olmstead of Reno Nevada, purchased a new Ford pickup, and while he was driving was involved in a rear end collision. When Roger’s pick up was hit, his head struck the window in the back, and he suffered serious brain damage. The vehicle did not have a headrest, and laws in effect at that point did not require manufacturers to install headrests. Roger is suing Ford Motor Co using strict liability in tort. What will happen? Please discuss.

2. Geno Davis arranged for the daily delivery of two bottles of whole milk from the San Mateo Dairy Co. One morning, as Geno reached for a bottle of milk, the bottle exploded in his hand causing significant damage to his fingers. Each bottle was labelled property of San Mateo Dairy Co. Normally, the delivery person would leave two full bottles and would take back two empty bottles. Geno is suing the dairy company. What result? Please discuss.

3. Knowing that he had two weeks of vacation time coming, Bruce Marks decided to paint his home. He went to the AAA Paint Palace and asked the manager to recommend a paint for his house. Bruce explained that the exterior walls were made out of concrete and in good condition. The manager stated that Seal all weather exterior paint would be perfect for his job. He also gave Bruce precise instructions for preparing the concrete and painting. Bruce followed the instructions faithfully, but four months later, the paint started to curl. Bruce decided to sue. What would be the result? Please explain.
