Leadership Presentation Guidelines

The leadership presentation incorporates all course learning outcomes providing students the opportunity to apply the course objectives and ensure the learned material is both timely and relevant to the student.

Prepare a Powerpoint Presentation on a leader of your choice using appropriate citations and a correctly formatted APA reference list that examines the management of the chosen leader. The manager can be historical or present day. The management analysis should include at least two references that are not the textbook. Direct quotes are not permitted. The presentation slides should include the following:

• Introduction – Introduce the leader through a summary of the leader’s background, as well as why the leader was chosen.  Summarize the fundamental components of the organizational structure that is managed by the chosen person.
• Leadership Approach/Strategy – Describe the key approaches to leadership used by the manager, as well as the various motivational techniques employed by the manager. Explain why the techniques were or were not effective. Provide a description of organizational goals and the types of plans and strategies utilized by the manager to achieve those goals. What management theory(s) most accurately supports the person’s management decisions?  Explain how the control function of management is associated with the planning function of management for the chosen person (i.e. how does the manager’s decisions for planning relate to the methods used to control organizational issues, such as changes?).  
• Conclusion – Summarize the leader’s contributions to the organization along with any relevant organizational changes that occurred through the duration of the person’s leadership. Explain whether the person’s management style was effective or ineffective and support your assertion.
