For Portfolio #4 I want you to revise a previous portfolio assignment (regardless of the grade) based on the topics we’ve discussed in class. Your options are: 1 letter from Portfolio #1; all of Portfolio #2; one page from Portfolio #3. Submit an improved version for this assignment. During this editing process, consider:

Genre Conventions:

• Unified Paragraphs
• Transitions and topic sentence
• Appropriate aesthetics for the genre

Precision and Clarity:

• Removing zombie nouns
• Removing extra phrasing
• Adjusting for active or. passive voice

Rhetorical Effectiveness:

• Creating reader-centric sentences when needed
• Developing content that is appropriate for the audience
• Anticipating audiences needs and/or objections
• Tayloring your tone for the rhetorical situation

Please make sure you submit your original draft with your revised copy for Portfolio #4 via blackboard. Both drafts should be in a Word Doc. If you can’t submit a Word doc., then a Google or Pdf doc. works. Follow the guidelines below as you complete the edited version:

• Revision Plan: Include a 100-200 word plan on a separate page before your edited version (see example in powerpoint session #13). This plan should describe why you chose this assignment and how you improved it.
• Include at least 5 comments embedded in the edited version. Each comment should describe what you did with a particular edit and why.
