Scenario:
You are members of the senior executive team
at Big Beer. You see that embracing a more
meaningful engagement with stakeholder will
be good for your companies longevity

Task 1 (Identifying):
Drawing on both theory and readings, identify
all of the relevant stakeholders for BigBeer.

Task 2 (Analysing):
Create a table that assesses the position of
each of BigBeer’s stakeholders, according to
the following criteria:

1. Contribution or Value:
Does the stakeholder have information,
counsel, or expertise on the issue that could
be helpful to the company?

2. Legitimacy (Stake):
How legitimate is the stakeholder’s claim for
engagement?

3. Necessity of Involvement (Power):
Is this someone who could derail or
delegitimize the process if they were not
included in the engagement?

Fill out your table by assigning a ‘high,’
‘med,’ or ‘low’ value for each criterion.

Task 3 (Mapping):
Using your table, create a ‘stakeholder map’
that plots BigBeer’s stakeholders on a grid,
across the following two axes:
1. Legitimacy and Influence
Indicate the power/influence of each
stakeholder on your map.
