Introduction

For this part, you will need to explain the business issue that you will researching this term.

Describe why you chose this topic, what attracted you to spend time and effort on this topic, and its significance.

Also, explain why this particular topic is important to the business field in general. For example, if you are researching a specific HR issue, you need to explain how this issue is impacting the HRM in general.

If you are researching an issue on employee motivation, then you need to explain how this issue is relevant to organization as a whole. If you are researching a marketing issues, explain how it is relevant to the marketing field, and so on.

Literature Review and Background

Here, you need to discuss what is already out there about your topic, what is already researched, and what is lacking from research on this particular topic. In other words, how the current research is not answering your questions on the issue.

Provide a summary of what is already known about your issue (be very specific, and support your arguments with references).

Point out some research articles that directly discuss your issue, and explain what these studies lack and aren’t answering (what do they leave unanswered that you would like to provide the answers to).

Provide a summary of the problem that you plan to study and the solution that you hope to provide.

Clearly write your research questions and hypothesis or hypotheses.

Explain why your research questions are interesting and worth the study.

Discuss how your research project will benefit other research studies and what knowledge will the reader gain from this study.

Methodology

Here, you will discuss your method for the research design. How are you going to collect the data and test the questions or hypotheses that you are researching? To better help you with the acceptable methods, you should review some scholarly journals to determine the type of method is acceptable for this particular research.

Method (how are you going to collect the data and why did you choose this particular method)

Who are you going to test and why did you decide to test those subjects?

Discuss your sample size, how did you come up with this sample size, and do you think the sample is big enough.

Are you excluding anyone from this sample? If yes, why are you excluding them?

Is your method different from other research studies on the same topic? If so, why?

What makes you think that your method will answer your research questions?

Do you anticipate any limitations of this method? If yes, how are you going to overcome the limitations?
