When it comes to both Dunkin and Starbucks, I think their guest expectations are about the same. They want food that is reasonably priced but still good quality. When it comes to the menu, I think the colors that Starbucks chose look more professional. That can make their items seem more high quality to their customers and is a reason why they don’t mind paying a little extra money. I think both places have modern decor and seating, but Starbucks goes further by changing their seating areas. They can seat the ordinary customer who wants to grab a bite and relax and the customers who have work to do. They provide seating that is more comfortable and have more charging ports. I also think it’s no surprise to people that the number of locations Starbucks has greatly exceeds the Dunkin locations. Starbucks can have a greater sales volume because of this. They are more convenient and people like that.

Personally, I do lean more towards Dunkin, but that is just because I like Donuts! I’m not a coffee or tea fan and never wake up early enough to try the breakfast items both places have. After reading the article, I feel as though a lot of people overlook Dunkin. You usually always see celebrities talking about their favorite Starbucks drink or see photos of them walking with a Starbucks cup in their hand. The influence celebrities have on their fans is something that has also helped Starbucks be very successful. If more celebrities started going to Dunkin and sharing the drinks they get, I think Dunkin would possibly see a rise in their sales
