Human Resource Management homework help

Selecting the appropriate intervention for children or adolescents with a stress or adjustment issue greatly depends upon their needs. Consider the following scenario:
Tanya is an 8-year-old girl who was in a severe car accident and sustained multiple lacerations on her face. She endured 6 hours of surgery to remove glass shards from her left eye and received 42 stitches from the left side of her chin to her forehead. Tanya’s surgery left her face disfigured. She spent 8 weeks recovering in the hospital.
Upon her release from the hospital, Tanya’s mother took her to a local ice cream store to celebrate her release. While Tanya enjoyed her ice cream, she suddenly felt as though everyone was staring at her. She observed a teenage girl looking at her and whispering to another friend. She overheard a young child ask her mother, “What’s wrong with her?” Tanya felt ugly and self-conscious because of her scars and she began to cry. Her mother tried to console her daughter but felt it was to no avail. As a counselor, how might you help Tanya adjust to her new face, tap into her resilience, and engage in social situations confidently?
Consider what type of intervention or setting would be most appropriate for Tanya. Is she likely to benefit from individual counseling or from a group setting with other children with similar issues? No matter what intervention you deem appropriate, as a clinician you must confidently convey to children or adolescents that with support and guidance, they can resolve their stress or adjustment issues.
For this Assignment, conduct an Internet search or a Walden Library search for at least one peer-reviewed article that presents evidence-based interventions that support stress or adjustment issues for children and adolescents. Then, select an intervention you might use for the stress or adjustment issue you selected in the Discussion.
The Assignment (2–3 pages):

  • Describe an evidence-based intervention for the stress or adjustment issue you selected, and explain why this intervention is appropriate.
  • Explain one way you might address one culture, family, or social factor in your intervention and how.
  • Describe two ways you might educate and/or support the parents/guardians as they try to help their child or adolescent through the stress or adjustment issue. Be specific.
  • Use the week’s resources and the current literature to support your response.

Support your Assignment with specific references to all resources used in its preparation. You are asked to provide a reference list for all resources, including those in the week’s resources for this course.

Dead on Arrival : The Politics of Health Care in Twentieth-Century America

Book JacketSeries:Politics and Society in Twentieth-century AmericaAuthors:Colin GordonPublication Information:Princeton, N.J. : Princeton University Press. 2003Resource Type:eBook.Description:Why, alone among industrial democracies, does the United States not have national health insurance? While many books have addressed this question, Dead on Arrival is the first to do so based on original archival research for the full sweep of the twentieth century. Drawing on a wide range of political, reform, business, and labor records, Colin Gordon traces a complex and interwoven story of political failure and private response. He examines, in turn, the emergence of private, work-based benefits; the uniquely American pursuit of’social insurance’; the influence of race and gender on the health care debate; and the ongoing confrontation between reformers and powerful economic and health interests. Dead on Arrival stands alone in accounting for the failure of national or universal health policy from the early twentieth century to the present. As importantly, it also suggests how various interests (doctors, hospitals, patients, workers, employers, labor unions, medical reformers, and political parties) confronted the question of health care–as a private responsibility, as a job-based benefit, as a political obligation, and as a fundamental right. Using health care as a window onto the logic of American politics and American social provision, Gordon both deepens and informs the contemporary debate. Fluidly written and deftly argued, Dead on Arrival is thus not only a compelling history of the health care quandary but a fascinating exploration of the country’s political economy and political culture through’the American century,’of the role of private interests and private benefits in the shaping of social policy, and, ultimately, of the ways the American welfare state empowers but also imprisons its citizens.Subjects:Medical care–Political aspects–United States

Human Resource Management homework help

Complete a 3-part assessment in which you create journal entries for a variety of business events, test your recall of accounting fundamentals by answering a series of questions, and identify and prepare entries for the corporate ownership business type.
Although many small businesses might operate on a cash basis, most of the larger ones use the accrual basis to record business events in the general journal. Learning the language of business is very challenging. There are so many terms, procedures, processes, and dos and do nots that keeping track of all of them requires a separate space in one’s brain. There are three business ownership types: (1) proprietorship, (2) partnership, and (3) corporation. Many of their accounting transactions are similar. However, there are some business events that require special transaction handling in accounting entries.
Context
By now, you have seen the end products in the operation of an accounting information system. However, you have not demonstrated how you got there. Getting there is a journey that takes a full accounting period (monthly, quarterly, or yearly) and involves analyzing and recording a series of organizational events or transactions. After all of the transactions have been recorded in a journal, the amounts are posted (transferred) to a ledger (storage for accounts).
The recording process begins with the transaction. Business documents, such as a sales slip, credit card receipt, check, invoice, or cash register tape provide evidence of the transaction. The accounting department assembles and analyzes all of this evidence to determine the transaction’s effects on specific accounts. Once recorded, the journal entry is transferred to the designated accounts in the ledger.
Questions to Consider
To deepen your understanding, you are encouraged to consider the questions below and discuss them with a fellow learner, a work associate, an interested friend, or a member of the business community.

  • Consider that you have been asked to make a presentation before your organization’s board of directors on how financial information flows through an accounting information system. To make your presentation move smoothly from the beginning to the end and not to lose any of the board members (and to keep them awake), you have decided to make a chart that shows the flow of information and the steps necessary for their understanding. You also need to make some notes on each step so you have a cheat sheet. In making this presentation:
    • What application would you use to display it for a wow factor?
    • What information would you include?

Assessment Instructions
This assessment includes three parts. Use the template provided for each part to complete the assessment. The templates are linked in the Resources under the Required Resources heading.
Part 1: Proprietorship Business Transactions
Although many small businesses might operate on a cash basis, most of the larger ones use the accrual basis to record business events in the general journal. In this assessment, apply your knowledge of various business events that require journal entries to be made.
For this part of the assessment, use the Assessment 4, Part 1 Template to create journal entries for each of the following business events for Magnolia Greens Frisbee Golf Course:

  • May 1: Invested $20,000 cash in the golf course business.
  • May 3: Purchased Hampstead Golf Land for $15,000 cash. The price includes land $12,000, shed $2,000, and equipment $1,000.
  • May 5: Paid advertising expenses of $700.
  • May 6: Paid cash $600 for a 1-year insurance policy.
  • May 10: Purchased golf discs and other equipment for $1,050 from Discs Are Us, payable in 30 days.
  • May 18: Received $1,100 in cash for golf fees earned (service revenue).
  • May 19: Sold 150 coupon books for $10 each. Each book contains four coupons that enable the holder to play one round of golf.
  • May 25: Withdrew $800 cash for personal use.
  • May 30: Pay salaries for part-time employees $250.
  • May 30: Paid Discs Are Us the full amount due.
  • May 31: Received $2,100 cash for fees earned.

Accounts to be used are given below:

  • Cash.
  • Prepaid insurance.
  • Land.
  • Buildings.
  • Equipment.
  • Accounts payable.
  • Unearned service revenue.
  • Owner’s capital.
  • Owner’s drawings.
  • Service revenue.
  • Advertising expense.
  • Salaries and wages expense.

Part 2: Accounting Knowledge Transfer
This part of the assessment allows you to demonstrate and reinforce your knowledge of business accounting terminology by transferring what is in your head onto paper.
For this assessment, use the Assessment 4, Part 2 Template to record your answers to the following short-answer questions designed to test your recall of accounting fundamentals.

  1. Define the internal and external users of accounting data. What data would each group most likely want to review? Provide examples of each user type.
  2. Describe the role ethics plays in the operation of an accounting system. Include a couple of examples.
  3. Select three among the several accounting conventions prescribed by law, regulators, and accounting organizations. For each selection, describe its purpose and provide an example of how it would be applied to an accounting system.
  4. Describe each of the three main financial statements—the end products of the work that takes place in an accounting system over a period of time—studied in the course. What does each statement present? Why is it important to prepare these? Who uses the information in the statements? Describe the interrelationship among the three statements.
  5. Discuss the rules of debit and credit as apply to each of the account types that would appear on a company’s balance sheet and income statement. Identify the normal balance for each account type and provide an example event for each. Analyzing business events requires the accountant to make several judgments about the facts contained in the event.

Part 3: Corporate Business Transactions
There are three business ownership types: (1) proprietorship, (2) partnership, and (3) corporation. Many of their accounting transactions are similar. However, there are some business events that require special transaction handling in accounting entries.
For this part of the assessment, use the Assessment 4, Part 3 Template to identify and prepare entries for the corporate ownership business type.

Human Resource Management homework help

The infant stage childhood is defined as those between 0-2 years. Children in this stage experience physical growth and development going through multiple key milestones, expand their cognitive skills, and exhibit emotional and psychological attachment styles and connections. Given that continual research in the area of early childhood development has shown that infancy is not just about surviving, but thriving, it is important for a human service professional to be aware of the different environmental influences that can impact children in this life stage. Being aware of these influences and understanding what protective factors are needed to assist with healthy development, and what risk factors may cause complications, is beneficial to knowing what interventions and supports to offer both the child and the caregiver.
To prepare for this assignment, begin by reading the case study below. Reflect on the influences in Max’s environment that the human service professional needs to consider in relation to the developmental stage of infancy, taking into consideration the biopsychosocial perspective.
Case Study
Max is a 2-year-old boy who currently lives with his mother Mary and maternal grandparents, given that Mary was 16 years old when he was born, and living with her parents at the time. Max’s biological father is not involved in a relationship with Max. He does occasionally see Max as they all live in the same town, but he does not make any effort to visit Max or provide financial support.
Mary did not know that she was pregnant for the first three months of her pregnancy. During this time Mary reports that she did drink and smoke cigarettes on the weekends when she was partying with her friends. It was only after she started becoming ill and went to the doctor that she realized she was pregnant. Mary reported not drinking any alcohol or smoking for the rest of her pregnancy. However, she does state that once Max was born, she has gone back to drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes on occasion when she can get some time with her friends to help her relax.
Max was born eight weeks premature and spent three weeks in the NICU at the hospital due to insufficient lung development. Since his release he has had frequent trips to the doctor for upper respiratory issues and has been diagnosed with reactive airway disorder. Due to this diagnosis Max needs albuterol treatment with a nebulizer a minimum of 2x/day and occasional steroids. At his recent two-year checkup he was noted as being underweight, and did not appear to be vocal. Mary reports that he does not say a lot at home either, although he does seem to understand and respond to things she says based on his actions.
Given that Mary is still working to complete her GED, and is also the main caregiver for her son, she works about 16 hours a week at a local restaurant as a waitress, therefore she uses Medicaid to help pay for healthcare for Max. Mary’s parents have allowed her and Max to continue to live with them as long as Mary works toward getting her GED and maintains her job. They do help provide childcare when she is at work or taking her GED classes.
Given Max’s health issues he does not have a lot of social interaction with other children his age. His contact is mainly limited to Mary and her parents. Her parents do try to play with Max and provide a variety of learning activities. Mary states that she is very busy with work and studying for her GED and does not always have time to interact with Max when he wants to play, and he often will scream and cry when people leave the room and he is left alone to play. He does not sleep through the night, and at least 2x/week wakes up screaming in the middle of the night. Mary reports that he often sleeps in her bed with her so she can get some sleep as well. He also has not been eating well lately, pushing food away.
Assignment Directions
For this assignment, use the case study above and the Unit 4 Assignment Template to write a paper that discusses how various environmental factors influence the client’s behavior within the developmental stage of infancy (0-2 years).
Please respond to the following:

  • Identify three relevant diagnoses, problems, or issues described in the case study that are affecting Max.
  • Considering the biopsychosocial theory, discuss what factors are relevant to consider when working with a client who is in the developmental stage of infancy.
  • Based on each of the three issues you identified in the first bullet, identify a minimum of three specific services and/or interventions that could be provided by a human service professional to assist Max and explain how each service and/or intervention is helpful to the client.
  • Discuss how you would evaluate whether each of the three services and/or interventions that you suggested were effective for this client.
