Math 112 Embry Riddle Aeronautical University The Area Under a Graph Calculus Ques

I’m working on a calculus discussion question and need support to help me learn.

THIS IS A THREE IN ONE DISCUSSION ASSIGNMENT. IT CONTAINS MODULE 7, MODULE 8 AND MODULE 9 DISCUSSION. Please kindly solve differently or number them separately when solving.

1. For this discussion, you will work in groups to find the area and answer questions.

Find the approximate area under the curve by dividing the intervals into subintervals and then adding up the areas of the inscribed rectangles. The height of each rectangle may be found by evaluating the function for each value of x. Your instructor will assign you 1and 2.

  • =2 2+1‾‾‾‾‾‾√ between =0 and =6 for 1and 2
  • Find the exact area under the curve using integration =2 2+1‾‾‾‾‾‾√between =0 and =6

Explain the reason for the difference in your answers.

2.For this discussion, you will work in groups to visualize the area under a curve using the online graphing tool Desmos. You will use the Desmos applet for a definite integral. To get started:

Use the Definite Integral tool to explore the area under a curve. Complete the following.

  • Replace the default equation with ( )=3 52 3.
  • First, set the limits as =1 and =2. You may need to zoom in or out to see the graph and the shaded region.
  • Then, experiment with a and b both being negative.
  • Then, let a be negative and b be positive. Try using the slider and have a and b as decimals.
  • Take a screenshot of one of your cases (including the right column of input information and the graph with the shaded region) to post into the discussion.

Find & Post

Find 21(3 52 3) and share the steps you used to get it.

undefinedcheckundefined

Post your step-by-step work and a screenshot of one of your cases.

Question 3.

Find an equation for the slant asymptote for the rational function below

f(x)=3x25x3+x+3x2x+3

University of Florida FBI Crime Report

I’m working on a statistics discussion question and need an explanation to help me learn.

The use of statistics is often employed to highlight international, national, and state trends in crime and drug abuse.

  • Go to the FBI Uniform crime report website (http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/ucr/ucr-publications (Links to an external site.)), pick one of the reports for a particular year, and
    • describe in detail what the report is about
    • discuss the types of variables, defining the different elements
    • provide a summary of findings (or results) of the report in your own words
  • Describe 3 interesting (and differing) examples of the use of statistics in forensic sciences
  • Go to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services administration (SAMHSA) website (https://www.samhsa.gov/data (Links to an external site.)), pick a dataset of your choice from any of the available data sets, and briefly summarize the data in your own words.

College of St Joseph Exam Grade Discussion Questions

1.Suppose that in a large class, the instructor announces that the
average grade on an exammmm is 75. Which is more likely to be closer to 75:

  1. The exammm grade of a randomly selected student in the class?

OR

  1. The mean exammm grade of a sample of 10 students?

Explain.

Write this first then give them reply from below posts. Do not use she,he, him ,her or this student. give them comment like your are giving them advice.

a.The greater the number of the data points the greater the chances you
have of being close to the mean of 75. So 10 data points of 10 student
testtt would be much more likely to be close to 75 than the single
randomly selected score. The more data points you have the more
clustered or close to mean it will be.

b. With only a sample of 1 your probability of choosing a students examm that is close to the average of 75 is not impossible but very low.

Now in a sample set of 10 exams you will have a greater probability of getting one examm that comes close, if not exactly the average of 75.

A better chance would arise if your sample set was at least 30 or more.

Central Ohio Technical College Excel Workbook

use excel to solve problem

A firm that plans to expand its product line must decide whether to build a small or a large facility to produce the new products. If it builds a small facility and demand is low, the net present value after deducting for building costs will be $400,000. If demand is high, the firm can either maintain the small facility or expand it. Expansion would have a net present value of $450,000, and main-taining the small facility would have a net present value of $50,000.If a large facility is built and demand is high, the estimated net present value is $800,000. If demand turns out to be low, the net present value will be –$10,000.The probability that demand will be high is estimated to be .60, and the probability of low demand is estimated to be .40.

a. Analyze using a tree diagram.

b. Compute the EVPI. How could this information be used?

c. Determine the range over which each alternative would be best in terms of the value of P (demand low).

University of Maryland Global Campus Measure Volume of Displaced Water Practice

I’m working on a Mathematics question and need guidance to help me study.

A merchant sells you a solid-gold, 1 kg statue for a very reasonable price. You wonder whether you got a bargain, so you lower the statue into a container of water and measure the volume of displaced water. What is the volume of water you would expect to be displaced for 1 kg of pure gold?

Answer: 51.8 cm^3

  • Show all of your work and explain your reasoning
    • explain each step, why you chose the equation you chose, how you are plugging in any numbers, etc. Pretend that you are explaining to someone who knows nothing about the subject matter
