Do you feel that leaders who have lost their “authenticity” can ever regain the trust of their followers?

Begin and prioritize your use of time in answering them. Also like some leadership and management decisions, there are no “hard and fast” right and wrong answer.

Think of a leader who espoused one message and then acted in a different manner. How did it affect the leader’s ability to be an effective leader? How did it change how you personally felt about the leader? Do you feel that leaders who have lost their “authenticity” can ever regain the trust of their followers?

, how can an organization benefit from the use of this tool to benefit its continuous improvement process?

Class, you’ve provided some good information about benchmarking.  With respect to strategic planning, how can an organization benefit from the use of this tool to benefit its continuous improvement process?

2. Who else is affected by them? If the women diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, their families, their friends, their community and who else will get affected by them? (Expand the thought)

Why is it important to incorporate a theory or model related to change when implementing practice changes? Does the benefit of incorporating a change model outweigh the time and effort it took to include it?

Provide a 200 word response to the below answered discussion question in apa format with in-text citations and references. Title page is not needed.

Discussion Question Answer:

According to Melynk and Fineout- Overholt (2014) a theoretical or conceptual framework is a number of statements that attempt to explain, and or predict a phenomenon. This is important to provide a framework for selecting the variables of the study and how the related to one another, allowing the researcher to develop interventions.

Utilizing a theory or framework will help provide a foundation for designing and planning strategies for intervention and selecting tools that are not random. Using a theory helps explain the reason why the interventions will work and is a critical step planning the interventions (Sales, Smith, Curran, Kochevar, 2006). They help and offer different perspectives on how to translate research into practice. I believe the benefit is great when incorporating a framework or theory. According to Melnyk and Fineout – Overholt (2014) utlizing a clear theoretical framework is driving the study hypotheses and intervention, and the relationship between the purposed study variables (p.503).  The framework is helping guide the direction of the study, they assist the nurse or clinician through the change practices and help strengthen the decisions to implement the evidence based change into practice.

Because we are setting the foundation, while it takes time, it is highly beneficial to the person who is trying to implement the change. Change models help the clinicians implement the change but also use strategies to disseminate knowledge, identify barriers, stakeholders, and activities that will help sustain the change (Melnyk & Fineout-Overholt, 2014). All of these are important when implementing any type of change. This is another reason why a model or theory is important in the EBP process.

What are the characteristics of the patient or population?

Discussion Question (DUE DATE MONDAY 12/05) Two peers answers to assignment Week3-1

Formulating the Research Question, Problem Statement, Research Purpose

In the Week 1 discussion forum you had an opportunity to present a potential problem and an innovative solution specific to your role specialization. In addition, you have reviewed the literature to identify qualitative and quantitative research articles and submitted annotated bibliographies to provide evidence supporting the problem.

Considering the feedback provided to you by the faculty member it is now time to prepare your problem statement, research purpose, and research question.

First share your refined problem and proposed solution (given your review of literature this may have changed depending on the evidence you were able to provide). Next, follow the steps to help define your research question.

  1. Craft the problem statement and research purpose.
  2. Design your research question aimed at solving (a part of) the problem and include the following components which will focus the literature review.

PICOT Question:

Patient, Population or Problem

  1. What are the characteristics of the patient or population?
  2. What is the condition or disease you are interested in?

Intervention or exposure

  1. What do you want to do with this patient (e.g. treat, diagnose, observe)?

Comparison

  1. What is the alternative to the intervention (e.g. placebo, different drug, surgery)?

Outcome

  1. What are the relevant outcomes (e.g. morbidity, death, complications)?

How will you integrate knowledge from evidence-based practice in creating a holistic plan of care for patients with sexually transmitted diseases?

Discussion Question (due date Friday 12/09) 1

Discuss the various types of sexually transmitted diseases. Your response should include the most common pathogens, typical signs and symptoms, and treatment.

  • What are the potential sequels from these diseases?

  • How will you integrate knowledge from evidence-based practice in creating a holistic plan of care for patients with sexually transmitted diseases?
