For the next newsletter, you have been asked to write about the effect of a specific communicable disease on your community.
Identify a communicable disease to research.
Write a 700- to 1,050-word paper summarizing your research. Include the following information:
Include at least 3 APA formatted references.
12/6/16 @12:00 p.m. PowerPoint Presentation 10-12 slides including title and reference page. 75-100 words of speaker notes per slide. No speaker notes on title page or reference page. 100 percent original work with at least 2 references.
As a manager of a health care facility, you have had numerous patient complaints regarding the accessibility and readability of their requested patient records. Some of the complaints include incomplete chart files, disorganized records, illegible information because of multiple handwriting styles, and quality of printing with the copy or fax transmissions. In addition, many of the complaints concern the vast amount of time waiting until the files can be located, assembled, copied, and delivered. Some wait times were up to 3 weeks in length, delaying patient treatment. Lastly, the complaints also center on the $0.75 per-page fee that the patients and physician offices pay for the hard copies created from the original pages. Even with this charge, the medical records department remains a large cost expenditure for the health care facility because of break downs in the chart retrieval machinery, personnel costs, supplies, and maintenance of equipment that is associated with creating hard copies of the original charts.
Part 1 Task:
As manager of this health care facility, create a presentation from a cost-savings point of view to address the following questions:
What steps could be taken to streamline the medical records department process?
How could this department be incorporated into the Health Level Seven (HL7) electronic system in terms of application, collection, warehousing, and evaluation regarding the storing and retrieval of patient charts?
Neurological System Case Study
A 35-year-old male is admitted to a hospital following a minor car accident. He was driving home and fell asleep at the wheel. This is the third accident he has had in the past year. He also falls asleep regularly at work, at the dinner table, at church, and, in fact, anywhere. When he becomes excited or enraged, he suddenly becomes weak and falls. At night, he often has bizarre, terrifying dreams. During these dreams, he feels as if he were paralyzed.
Based on the scenario given above, answer the following questions:
The project is modeled on the Shewhart Cycle (plan, do, check, act) you will modify the shewhart cycle to make it applicable to your selected healthcare service or program. Seek additional resources that will help you understand the process being studied as well as planning and quality improvement in general. Visit the goleansixsigma.com
Click resources and then select Lean six sigma tools review the steps in sequence they provide direction to a quality process improvement plan. while you do not need to use the steps in sequence, they provide direction, as given below. Define, measure, analyze, describe the environment, the organization, and the department or program within the organization that is the basis for your project. Describe the selected healthcare setting, specifically its service, staff equipment and patients. identify and describe the scope and nature of the problem. assess the environemnt using strengths weaknesses opportunities and threats (SWOT) analysis. interview some stakeholders such as managers, staff or customers. use the interview information to conduct the SWOT analysis. you may also summarize or quote any important or interesting information gathered during the interview. Select one of the weaknessess determined by the SWOT analysis to create a plan for improvement. Present the description of the organization, the SWOT analyais, and any interview summaries in a 5 page word
Assignment 2: Course Project: Health Policy Paper (Domestic Violence)
Health policy unfolds daily and drives clinical practice in the US. The student will investigate current policies or legislation underway for a specific health-related issue. The Student will develop a scholarly APA formatted paper supported by evidence. The policy paper rubric:

Second-Generation HIT Informaticists
Great discoveries can transform the world. In 400 BC, Hippocrates theorized that the body was composed of four “humors”—blood, phlegm, black bile, and yellow bile. Now think of the impact of the seminal work of William Harvey, who, in the 1600s, accurately described the circulation system and the role of the heart for the first time. It was not until the early 1900s that the Austrian biologist Karl Landsteiner identified four distinct blood groups. Today, knowledge about the nature and properties of blood is so complicated that the entire field of blood chemistry is devoted to its study.
This same type of expansion of knowledge within a scientific field is mirrored within the field of informatics. As new technologies develop, subsequent changes occur in the fiel that are, built upon the earlier work of others. In this Discussion, you examine the continuing evolution of the field of health informatics and assess how researchers built on the work of preceding scientists.
You will focus on the following individuals:
Joan Ash
Nancy Lorenzi
Ben Shneiderman
Diane Forsythe
Chuck Friedman
Sue Bakken
Patty Brennan
Diane Skiba
Danny Sands
Lucian Leape
To prepare:
Select and read at least one article from this week’s Learning Resources for at least five individuals listed above.
Consider how the work of each individual has built upon the work of earlier pioneers in the informatics field.
Assess the areas of growth in informatics research from the informatics pioneers you researched last week to the individuals you read about this week, and the ways in which health informatics has continued to evolve.
Select one individual from this week you found to be of particular interest, and read at least one additional article written by him or her from the list provided in the Learning Resources.
Conduct further research to determine recent contributions or additions to the individual’s research.
By Tomorrow 12/06/16, post a minimum of 550 words in APA format with a minimum of three references from the list provided below. Include the level one headings as numbered below:
1) A brief summary of key contributions of the individual you selected.
2) Explain which ideas/accomplishments you found to be most compelling, and why.
3) Assess the evolution of the field of nursing informatics from the first group of pioneers (Week 1 Discussion) to the second generation of HIT nurse informaticists.
4) Provide specific examples of how this evolution is evident in the field.
Topic 1: EBP and PICOT
Discuss how you used the three components inherent to Evidence-Based Practice inquiry to direct your clinical question database search.
The PICOT question: Does repositioning of bed bound patients every two hours decrease the risk of pressure ulcer versus repositioning every 5 hours?
Please adhere to nursing information that is related to my PICOT question
Needs to be 1 page
Use Peer reviewed nursing articles that are less than 5 years old
Please give 4 references
Additional information
The three components inherent to any evidence-based practice change are validity, reliability, and credibility. These three components are the check system to determine whether the practice is based on evidence-based research.
