What are the important points that you would review with a patient when teaching how to instill ophthalmic drops?

Administration of ophthalmological medications requires some explanation to the patient. Answer the following questions in a 2 pages Word document:

1. What are the important points that you would review with a patient when teaching how to instill ophthalmic drops?

2. What are the important points that you would review with a patient when teaching how to instill ophthalmic ointment?

3. What are the differences in teaching you would need to consider if the patient was a child or if the patient is a geriatric patient?

4. Search the literature to see whether you are able to locate any guidelines to support this teaching. Support your answers with at least 2 peer-reviewed articles

Describe  the ethical obligations associated with the physician-patient relationship.

A physician who  doubts the diagnosis of a patient  should order a consultation. In this  assignment, you will review a  scenario in which a consultation was ordered  for a patient, and you  will analyze the ethical obligations involved in the  physician-patient  relationship.

Scenario

A family  practice doctor has a female  patient who is twenty-two weeks pregnant with  her third baby. The first  child was born at thirty weeks and survived;  however, her second  pregnancy resulted in a miscarriage at nineteen weeks.  The patient  would like to do all she can to have a successful pregnancy. As  of  today, the patient has no signs of premature labor, and her cervix is   closed. Given her history, the family practice doctor would like to  discuss  the possibility of a cerclage with an obstetric consultant.  Chances of  cerclage helping the pregnancy along are one in ten.

On the basis of  the above scenario, respond to the following questions:

  • Describe  the ethical obligations associated with the physician-patient relationship.
  • Explain  the outcome of this consultation with your justification.
  • Discuss  what you would have done differently to handle the case.
  • Provide  a real-life example of a consultation.

Compile your  responses in a 3-to-5-page Word document.

How did your fellow healthcare workers react to implementation of the ACA?

This post should be a minimum of 300 words, APA style, reference and NO PLAGIARISM. Similarity report should be less 20%. Any questions please ask.

WEEK 1: THE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT

Healthcare reform is a term that is ever present in our practice settings and will not disappear any time soon.

Share with the class implementation of the Affordable Care Act in your organization. (If you are not working as a nurse, think about what was happening when you were a prelicensure student).

How did your fellow healthcare workers react to implementation of the ACA?

How were citizens in your community impacted?

Describe two approaches to marketing or promoting these goals within the organization or to the community/service area.

Each student will develop a strategic plan that highlights specific issues in the strategic management and marketing of a healthcare organization of his/her choice. The strategic plan will increase the student’s critical perspectives, awareness, and knowledge in the course subject area.Students may consult with me individually anytime during your paper writing. This is a mini strategic plan but it must include the following:

  1. Introduction and overview of the organization selected
  2. What are the mission, vision and values of the organization?
  3. Conduct a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis of the organization.  Research for information on the organization.
  4. Identify two areas for improvement based on the SWOT analysis and develop two strategic goals
  5. Outline short term/long terms objectives and what steps and procedures would be necessary for achieving these objectives? How you will evaluate/control each strategy (and thus each objective) in your plan.  How will you know whether your strategy/objective is on target?  Who will be responsible?
  6. Keep in mind that resources may be scarce or limited. If you plan to do something, make sure that you are considering costs/expenses and also how you will finance such activities.
  7. Describe two approaches to marketing or promoting these goals within the organization or to the community/service area.

The strategic plan outline must be approved by the instructor. Students may send me a proposal by email before plan writing. In the proposal, students should tell me the full title of your strategic plan, why the organization/institution is your best choice, and how you plan to write. I will approve your proposal if I think it is suitable and feasible. Students may consult with me individually anytime during your paper writing.

Describe the budgeting tool(s) you used to arrive at these determinations. Explain what challenges, if any, you encountered through the budgeting process. Provide documentation (e.g., Excel worksheets) to support your analysis.

Section 3: Balanced Scorecard

To prepare:

As introduced in Week 8,continue to refine your balanced scorecard. (Refer to Week 8 for the preparatory instructions as necessary.) Your balanced scorecard is one tool you can use to evaluate the effects of your planned change on performance.

To complete:

  • Create a balanced scorecard that could be used to measure and evaluate the impact of your planned change on performance, and determine if the costs are justified in terms of the outcomes.
  • Include what you would measure in terms of finances, customers, internal process, and learning and growth.

Section 4: Budgeting and Timeline Tools

As you have been examining this week, budgeting and timeline tools are vital for determining necessary resources and planning for a proposed change. For your Course Project, you use these types of tools to assess resources that may be required for the successful implementation of your strategic plan.

To prepare:

  • Review the information on budgeting in this week’s Learning Resources. Which tools (e.g., Revenue Projection Model, Capital Budgeting Analysis, Depreciation Calculator, Profit and Loss Projection) would be most useful for developing your strategic plan?
  • Use one or more budgeting tools to outline the financial resources for your proposed change. Reflect on any challenges that arise as you evaluate the financial resources required for this change now and in the future.
  • Review the information on PERT and other timeline tools in this week’s Learning Resources, including Dr. Huston’s presentation in the media program.
  • Use PERT or another tool to analyze and represent the activities that need to be completed to successfully plan and implement your proposed change. Be sure to note dependencies (e.g., a task/milestone that must be completed in order to trigger the next step) and realistically assess the minimum time needed to complete the entire project.

To complete:

  • Outline the financial resources for your proposed change. Describe the budgeting tool(s) you used to arrive at these determinations. Explain what challenges, if any, you encountered through the budgeting process. Provide documentation (e.g., Excel worksheets) to support your analysis.
  • Outline the timeline for the implemen

What would you do in the event of a disaster? Would you evacuate? Would you spend time gathering precious memories?

Effective disaster preparedness includes a pre-event plan. Community/public health nurses can facilitate effective disaster response by ensuring they have disaster plans for their families, their social groups, and/or their workplace. Consider your own family, and reflect on the following:

•What would you do in the event of a disaster? Would you evacuate? Would you spend time gathering precious memories?

•What information do you feel would be critical to have to ensure appropriate care for your loved ones?

•How would you ensure the safety of your children?

•What would you do with your pets?  Develop and post your disaster plan for your family.

Your initial post should be about 150 words, referenced with at least one APA-formatted reference.

· Consider a differential diagnosis for the patient in the case study you selected. Think about the most likely diagnosis for the patient.

Diagnosing and Managing Common Cardiovascular and Neurologic Conditions

Cardiovascular and neurologic conditions are among the leading causes of death and hospitalization of women in the United States (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2008a). As an advanced practice nurse, you must routinely monitor patients at risk of these conditions and recommend the appropriate health screenings and preventive services. When assessing patients for these conditions, it is important to keep in mind that while some female patients might present with typical signs and symptoms, others might present with atypical signs and symptoms that are unique to women. For this Discussion, consider signs and symptoms presented by the women in the following case studies and develop differential diagnoses:

                                                      Case Study 2: Due  10.30.17

You are seeing a 63-year-old African American female for a two-week history of intermittent chest pain. The pain varies in intensity and resolves with rest. She does not believe it has increased over time. She is a nonsmoker with a history of hypertension treated with Lisinopril 10 mg once daily. She had an exercise stress test one year ago that was within normal limits. Her physical exam findings are as follows: HR–90, BP–150/92, R–22, O2Sat 98% RA; lungs: clear to auscultation bilaterally; cardiovascular: apical pulse of 90 RRR, no rubs, murmurs, or gallops. Chest wall mildly tender to palpation that reproduces her complaint of pain. Extremities include no clubbing, cyanosis, or edema. The remainder of the exam is within normal limits.

To prepare:

· Review Chapter 8 of the Tharpe et al. text and the McSweeney et al. article in this week’s Learning Resources.

· Analyze the patient information on case study # 2

· Consider a differential diagnosis for the patient in the case study you selected. Think about the most likely diagnosis for the patient.

· Reflect on the appropriate clinical guidelines.

· Think about a treatment and management plan for the patient.

· Be sure to consider appropriate dosages for any recommended pharmacologic and/or nonpharmacologic treatments.

· Consider strategies for educating patients on the treatment and management of the disorder you identified as your primary diagnosis.

Post an explanation of the differential diagnosis for the patient in the case study you selected. Explain which is the most likely diagnosis for the patient and why. Then, based on the appropriate clinical guidelines, explain a treatment and management plan for the patient, including proper dosages for any recommended treatments. Finally, explain strategies for educating patients on the disorder.

What opportunities and challenges may arise as a result of individuals with differing leadership styles and skills working together? How would you work on a team or in a group with those whose style differs from your own?

Diverse Leadership St the Week 8 Discussion, you discussed the implementation of a new product or service, aligned with organizational goals and professional standards, and described the management and leadership competencies that would facilitate successful implementation of this project.

For this Discussion, think again about the new product or service discussed in week 8, now consider a new product or service that you would initiate adoption. Consider the importance of building a team of leaders from across the organization to implement the new product or service you are recommending.

To Prepare

  • Think of a new product or service such as the one  in the Week 8 Discussion.
  • Consider the leaders across the organization you would work with to roll out the product or service. Which leadership styles and skills might you encounter as you work with various individuals?
  • What opportunities and challenges may arise as a result of individuals with differing leadership styles and skills working together? How would you work on a team or in a group with those whose style differs from your own?

Post a description of how the leadership styles and skills of others you would work with to roll out the product or service would support, complement, or contrast your own. Describe challenges and opportunities that may arise as a result of working with individuals with differing leadership styles and skills in a team or group setting.
