The company you work for is losing support for its current ERP system and you have been tasked
with researching and choosing the next system that will replace it. Your boss wants you to provide a
detailed analysis of your top 3 choices, and your reasoning behind those choices. Ultimately you need to
select the top option out of those 3 to recommend to your company. The question you need to answer
is “What ERP system should our company use, and why should we use that over the other options?”
A little background about your company:
1. You work for a manufacturing company that makes after-market parts for the local RV industry
2. You have about 1,500 employees, about 1,000 of those would use your ERP system in some
capacity
3. The current ERP system uses on-premise servers, but that’s not a requirement for the next
system
4. You need your ERP to run all of your financials (GL, AP, AR), your operations (inventory,
warehousing, MRP), and your human resources (employees, hiring/firing, timecards)
Your boss has made several complaints about extracting information from the current ERP system, this
is something to pay special attention to when choosing the future. Aside from this you should consider
the following factors:
1. Cost
2. Capability
3. Industry ratings
4. Support
5. Flexibility
You can turn this assignment in any way you like; it could be a Word doc with a narrative structure, it
could be a PowerPoint as if you were presenting this to your company’s leaders, it could be something
different like a video.
