Florida Atlantic University Cloud Structure and Its Requirements Paper

The handling of presidential elections in the US is always controversial because each state uses different ways to vote and there is no real-time centralized system accumulating partial results. A possible solution is using a cloud system that would be receiving partial results on election day and accumulating totals. This cloud would also keep voter registration lists, list of candidates, and vote formats.

Propose a cloud structure (number of nodes, locations, type of clouds (public, VPC,… )) with their requirements (availability, security, performance…). Use three levels for the requirements: High, Medium, Low. Indicate what data should be kept in each cloud node (say if replication is needed). Specify what institution should control this cloud. Describe the roles of the people involved, the data used by their functions, and their provenance.

Itemize your selections in tables or lists, no long paragraphs. No need to be very detailed, no need to include implementation aspects, but consider all relevant aspects. Give references to papers consulted. Make necessary assumptions for aspects not specified.
