There is an abundance of data available, and every organization produces tons of data every single day. In the scenario of big data, it is necessary to represent the data in the most efficient ways possible. Data visualization helps represent the data in graphs/figures that look more appealing and understandable (Tan et al., 2016). The significant importance of the data visualization techniques is that they help analyze data in a much more efficient way, better decision-making abilities, analyze new patterns and errors in the data (Embarak, 2018).

           In data visualization, regular expressions are used to verify, extract strings and filter the data strings in the required formats. The two regular expressions which are considered in this discussion are the bracket and anchors. A bracket expression “(“ is a regular expression that matches the specific set of characters based on the characters listed within the bracket expressions. Anchors are also regular expressions that match the position before and after the characters. The bracket expressions deal in enclosing the characters, collating elements, collating symbols, character classes. In comparison, the anchor expressions do not care about the characters, whereas they care about the positioning of the strings (Bressoud & White, 2020).
