Evaluate organizations with no information governance policies or strategies to determine where there may be a problem with information management or an information governance strategy. It is essential to measure everything that the organization is doing. This might include tracking everything from the number of defects per million lines of code to the customer service ratings that an organization provides to customers. Regardless of the details, tracking these metrics will show where improvements can be made and help the organization determine which areas of improvement are the most valuable (Lomas et al., 2019). The metrics that they track have identified some significant areas of improvement. _(M)

Metrics can help to create a baseline of the current status of the business. They can be used to analyze change over time and to monitor and report results. Metrics provide a structured means for tracking performance. Metrics are used to evaluate or judge whether performance measures are being achieved, understand and explain why a behavior change has occurred, and make decisions. Metrics are also helpful in managing Information Governance. The metrics should be used to support policy decisions and help track changes in the policy.(R)
