Reading and writing critically involves the analysis of literary devices to convey theme. Describe how the device of tone differs in these three types of fiction: parablesfables, and tales. Your answer must make specific reference to Luke’s The Prodigal Son, Aesop’s The Wolff and the Mastiff, Petronius’ The Widow of Ephesus, and one other parable, fable, or tale that you have found from your own reading or from the recommended reading.
