CLASSMATE’S POST (Blake)

Question- Give four examples of ACH transactions you might make. (LO2)ACH, Automatic Clearing House, is an incredibly useful and widely used way to transfer funds between entities. A common use for ACH thousands of others and I utilize regularly is paying bills. Whenever an automatic payment is established, ACH is the convenient tool for direct payment to whoever is requesting. Many homeowners use ACH for their mortgage payments, in addition to utility bills. Another way that ACH is utilized is when distributing or accepting payroll payments. When an employer sends compensation to an employee it is automatically deposited into the employee’s account. In this case, both the employee and employer have ACH helping them complete their transaction.  And this is only one of the ways which businesses use ACH, “ In addition to offering payroll deposit programs to employees, many businesses use ACH to pay suppliers and contractors electronically.”(Weiner, 1999), companies utilize ACH for a variety of transactions. One of these uses is a business paying its taxes. Lastly, an ACH transaction I may participate in is buying clothes using debit cards. Many debit card and credit card transactions utilize ACH, so in numerous stores that accept debit cards for payment, ACH allows transactions to speed up. ACH is an effective means of payment.
