Step 1. Click here to listen and take notes about the Marketplace episode that will be assigned to you by last name. Choose ONE of the two episodes listed. Because there are several stories within each episode, you are to choose one story as your focus in order to summarize the key terms, related economic topics and making connections to your previous learning by responding to the 3, 2, 1, Summary prompts by following Steps 2 through 6 below.
Step 2. The first time you listen to the full episode, listen for and define on a Google Doc the key terms from the story that are essential to understanding the story and/or terms that may be unfamiliar to your classmates.
Step 3. Now listen to your story for a second time, take notes on the key ideas and information by completing a 3, 2, 1 Summary about the story on the same Google Doc with the terms you defined. Your 3, 2, 1 Summary responses should be in complete sentences, use relevant academic language demonstrating your understanding of the both stories.
3, 2, 1 Summary Prompts:

- 2… Questions you have specific to the content. Your questions might begin with, “I don’t understand how or why…?” and/or “Now that I know more about this topic, I wonder how it relates to , is similar or different than…?”
- 1… Describe and explain one of the three important ideas you learned and how the idea has meaning or importance to you, the larger society or related to your previous knowledge.
Step 4. After you have listened and completed a 3, 2, 1 Summary for the story, provide the title and date of the Marketplace episode in the assignment comment section as well as your definitions of the key economic terms discussed. Again, use proper grammar, spelling and punctuation and academic language.
Step 5. In the same post described in Step 4, write one sentence describing the real world context of how one key economic concept you defined is discussed in the story. Use proper grammar, spelling and punctuation and academic language. See the following comment/post example.
