Abuse and neglect has come to the forefront of not only youth sports, but college and professional sports as well.  Abuse and neglect used to be part of the accepted sport culture.  That appears to be changing.  The purpose of this assignment is to make you familiar with observing information and forming an opinion based on information provided.

2. Write a  brief summary of what your take away was from the article.  Please include at least three facts of information from the article.

3. Choose one or both of the following to write about for this assignment:    (A) Provide any anecdotal information about abuse and neglect you have experienced         

and/or witnessed. You do not have to include any identifying characteristics.  Discuss how you handled the situation(s) and if you were able to act or were you inhibited from acting.

 (B) Discuss the fact that sometimes people do not know they have been abused or neglected because it was a normative part of their sport or other life culture such stated in some of the videos in additional resources.

4.  Write about some ways you could begin to be proactive and work towards prevention of abuse and neglect.
