NURS 305 Obesity and Why It Is Associated with More Several Illness Discussion

topic  ;  Obesity and why it is associated with more several illness.

1: JING Website evaluation

First, you will identify a disease topic. It is recommended that you use the topic for your week 12 paper as this assignment can be incorporated. Describe the disease and why you chose this particular topic.

Choose a specific population affected by the disease (age, gender, race, etc.) and provide a few statistics specific to this group.

  • Identify a website you think may be a useful resource for your specific population and their health need.
  • Download the JING app to your computer. You may also use any other screen capture and edit program but you will need to be able to draw arrows/boxes and type text onto the image. The free JING download can be found at: JING download
  • View the quick JING tutorial video in your week 6 folder that also gives a quick introduction, to how JING will be used to complete this assignment. It can also be found at JING video for this assignment
  • Refer to page 154, Table 9-1 (Sewell, 2019) for the questions you will need to answer regarding your chosen website. You will need to evaluate for source, authority, funding, validity and quality, and privacy and disclosure.

View the tutorial “Evaluating Health Information” in the week 5 folder to help guide you in evaluating your website.

Complete your paper as directed on the rubric and the sample paper found in the week 6 folder. The focus is on the annotated screen captures. You only need to provide a few sentences to summarize your findings for each part of the evaluation AS LONG AS you are capturing that information, identifying it and texting about it on the JING capture. If it is missing from the JING capture then you should explain why.Answering the questions for each section may require more than one screen capture for each section.

If deemed a reputable website, this site can be included in the week 12 paper.

  • Part 2: Mobile App Rating Scale (MARS) evaluation

Go to your mobile phone’s app store and search for a mobile app that would be of interest to your health topic and specific population.Be sure it is appropriate for the age/gender/cultural group you chose. You will need to actually use the app and move through the various sections of the app so you are able to evaluate it as described below.

Download and print the Mobile Application Rating Scale (MARS) App Classification document that you will use to evaluate your mobile app. This is in the week 6 folder.

Complete the MARS document. On the first page you will be able to find most of this information in your App Store for your mobile device once you choose an app.Don’t worry about the “N Ratings” section. If you don’t see an overall rating just use the rating for the most recent version.

You will then score your app and calculate the MEAN (average) score for each section(A-E).

  • On page 6 of the document under scoring, you will put the mean for each section A-D and then the app quality mean score for sections A-D (add the mean scores for A-D and divide by 4).You will also put the app subjective quality score.Page 7 is also for your reflection based on what you have seen regarding this app.
  • Based on this evaluation you will then introduce your mobile app and explain some of its features.
  • Discuss the evaluation and some of the strengths you found as well as any concerns.

Be sure to upload the completed MARS into the separate drop box.If your Adobe PDF allows for editing on the document you can complete the MARS, save, and upload into the dropbox.Otherwise, you can print, complete, scan, save, and upload. You can use a mobile app such as CamScanner. Please let me know if you have any problems with this.

  • Part 3: Conclusion

Provide an overall evaluation of the website, briefly describe which criteria are met and which ones are not.State your conclusion about this website and whether it meets or does not meet criteria for it to be recommended to the patient population.
