Two databases/resources and the strategies behind the selection my organization uses to gather evidence on current or emerging public health programs or interventions used to improve the health of the target population.

My organization which is called Abigail Healthcare Diabetes Clinic in Texas uses various rescores to gather evidence on current or emerging public health programs or interventions used to improve the health of the target population. Two of the resources that my organization use is the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Covid-19 One-Stop-Shop Toolkits, which they relied on mainly for covid-19 health-related issues during the pandemic and used the information, guidelines, and resources to help promote the health of the population my organization mainly to provide help for the underserved population. The strategy for selecting this specific resource or database is that during the pandemic, the CDC was one of the main databases that was providing guidelines on the pandemic and my organization was seeing patients who tested positive for covid. Therefore, it was important that the organization learned how to operate the business and provide care safely, but also focus on treating those who needed help (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2021).

The second resource that the organization used is the American Diabetes Association website that provides an abundance of tools and resources that provide guidelines, health programs, and interventions that can be used to improve the health of underserved populations who are suffering from diabetes. The strategy for selecting this specific resource or database is that the organization’s focus is on the control, prevention, and management of diabetes in underserved populations. Therefore, the organization is a nonprofit organization that focuses on producing low-cost services. Furthermore, being that the focus is on diabetes, the organization needed a database that provides various resources, tools, and guidelines on treating, managing, preventing, and controlling diabetes. Therefore, a national diabetes association that provides all these factors is the American Diabetes Association (American Diabetes Association Organization, 2021).

The identification of one additional tool or resource currently not being used that might be helpful for my organization.

An additional tool or resource that is not currently being used that could be helpful for my organization is the CDC database of Interventions. This database is a tool that helps stakeholders, leaders, and public health officials to identify inventions that may work based on four different factors, which are socioeconomic factors, health behavior, physical environment, and clinical care. I believe this database can be helpful when creating a plan for patients to control, maintain, and prevent their chronic illness or during collaboration partnerships to improve the community (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2021).
