MCCN Effects of Using Morphine Lorazepam Literature Review Paper

 


My PICOT question: In hospice patients, are the effects of using morphine concentrate in conjunction with lorazepam more positive than using only one of the medications on its own in regards to comfort and an overall peaceful passing?


PURPOSE

The purpose of this assignment is for the student to utilize the previously completed critical appraisal tools and the evidence table as a guide in development of a literature review paper.

2. Describe how to appraise nursing research for a review of the literature. (CO 6).

3. Discuss the implications from nursing research related to patient populations. (CO 5, 7).

GUIDELINES FOR WRITING ASSIGNMENTS

  • This assignment should be written as a formal paper, with a title page, body of the paper (using headings to guide the reader through the paper), and a reference page.

  • It is imperative that you use the feedback provided on the Critical Appraisal and Evidence Table Assignment and integrate those changes for each of these sections in the Literature Review Paper. Not doing this will result in point deductions.
  • When you submit your paper to the “Literature Review Paper” in “Assignments”, it will automatically be submitted to TurnItIn (TII), a program that checks for similarity of your paper to published works. You will be able to view the TII Similarity Index and originality report in your assignment in the MyMCCN Canvas grade book.

Literature Review Paper Grading Guidelines

Your paper should have the following sections and subsections:

  1. Introduction: The Introduction/Overview states the paper’s intent and should be concise and complete. Cite at least one more additional source to support this section of your paper that is in addition to the three appraised articles.
  2. Article Reviews: For each of the 3 appraised articles, you should complete the following sections and subsections.
    • Conceptual Framework: Describe the Conceptual Framework for this article.If there was none listed in the article include these details in this section.Discuss what framework was used and provide details about the framework.
    • Population: Discuss the population used in this study, as well as what populations were included and excluded.
    • Methodology & Tools: Each of these requires a separate section (with separate heading).
    • Level of Evidence: Discuss the level of evidence that the article was determined to be.
    • Findings & Data Analysis: Discuss data analysis methods and the findings of the article.
    • Strengths, Limitations, Applicability, and Feasibility: Each of these requires a separate section (with separate heading).
  1. Conclusion: Include a synthesis of the three articles: This will be an overview where you compare the findings and make sure to cite each of the 3 articles in the section.

The following are guidelines for writing the Literature Review Paper:

  • Paper should be a minimum of 8 pages not including title or references pages.
  • There should be no more than 3 grammatical, spelling, use of contractions, punctuation, and syntax errors.
  • There should be no more than 3 APA formatting errors related to title page, running head, headings, references or in-text citations.
