A healthcare manager has the responsibility to advance and safeguard the implementation of sound health policies in the community while maintaining good ethics and meeting social responsibility duties (Faden, Shebaya & Siegel, 2019). This is achieved by ensuring the advancement of societal health goals, being in charge of ethical standards in healthcare organizations, minimizing health risk, and promoting social justice in healthcare delivery services. An example is a healthcare manager can formulate human values training programs while promoting compassionate care to patients and their loved ones

One of the most significant issues that a healthcare manager that I will face is the lack of integrity with regard to the delivery of patient care. Even though the responsibility of a healthcare manager is to ensure that the healthcare organizations that they work in employ integrity when delivering quality healthcare services to their patients, they still have to deal with other stakeholders in the healthcare delivery systems such as insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, and medical equipment organizations. These organizations do not put the needs of the patients first. Instead, they are more concerned with making money. They can thus interfere with the objectives of healthcare managers of upholding social responsibilities and maintaining medical ethics when delivering healthcare services to patients

Hello all,

The responsibility of a health care manager is to juggle multiple responsibilities like; planning, directing and coordinating other practitioners, departments and groups. A health care manager handles business operations as well medical team needs. In health care organizations there should be ethics that is promoted in the workplace, staff members should be well educated regarding ethics. The health care manager can help demonstrate social responsibility by promoting a work diversity environment. The health care manager should start by establishing ethic polices and apply them the organization. Employee should be well trained to comply with the ethical standards. The policies should be implemented and enforced upon the first day of orientation/hiring.

The biggest issue that will always be an issue is trying to offer affordable health care rates to patients. With the cost of health are increasing we are seeing more and more patients fall into collections with hospital bills. This not only hurts the patient because they will have a hospital bill in collections. Hospitals and organizations also fall in a debt when they have hundreds of patients that owe medical expenses. As a health care manager I want to work with my organization to help patients qualify for affordable insurance and offer rates to help decrease the amount of money patients owe.
